Dragon's Back Race - Meet Team Montane

Now a day longer, country-spanning event, the first Montane Dragon’s Back is a bigger and tougher beast than it has ever been.  However, we’ve put together a group of homegrown athletes both old and new who are more than up to the task.

Marcus Scotney

A venerable giant of the UK Ultra-running scene.  He set the Dragon’s Back course record in 2017 and has been in excellent form leading up to this years’ race, having set a new Limestone Way record in April.  Will he reclaim his crown from current course record holder and fellow Montane athlete Galen Reynolds?

Mark Kerry

Mark has been increasingly making his presence felt in the ultra running community over the past couple of years, and placed 4th on STRAVA’s FKT leader boar between December 2020-May 2021.  This will be his first race as part of Team Montane, but his quality – and sheer volume of weekly running - is undeniable.

Chloe Lumsdon

Chloe ran the first Montane George Fisher Tea Round with fellow ambassador Howard Dracup, and has been a member of Team Montane ever since.  An experienced – and highly competent – multi-day mountain marathon runner, she is exceptionally well prepared for the Dragon’s Back despite it being her biggest undertaking thus far.
