Introducing Aaron Tregellis

Meet Aaron, a mountaineer, climber, skier, runner and alpinist living in Scotland.

When not in the mountains he is the Nationally Elected Councillor for Mountaineering for the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), the representative body that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers in the UK and abroad. He is also Chair of the International Committee, a BMC Specialist Committee that formulates policies and advises on all aspects of mountaineering where there is an international dimension, organizes international climbing meets in the UK, and awards grants to British expeditions attempting adventurous and progressive mountaineering overseas.

As a prominent voice in the mountaineering community, Aaron is a vocal champion for mountaineers everywhere and is passionate about protecting our outdoor spaces and breaking down barriers to participation and improving diversity in mountaineering.

Currently living in Edinburgh, Aaron can be found running, skiing, and climbing around the mountains or sea cliffs of Scotland, England, and Wales, but has a particular affinity for Scottish winter climbing, technical alpine adventures, and Himalayan expeditions. He loves being able to introduce new people to mountainous landscapes and is training to be a mountain guide.

“As somebody who spends the majority of their time outdoors, trusting my kit is so important. Over the years I have found Montane kit to be versatile, lightweight, and durable, and I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Montane to help keep me safe and warm in the mountains for many years to come.” - Aaron
