PERTEX® QUANTUM

Windproof, soft to the touch and 100% recycled. PERTEX® QUANTUM is constructed in a tightly woven structure to provide windproof protection and trap still air inside the jacket. This allows the down insulation to fully loft and retain its warmth.The fabric is lightweight, packable and soft to the touch. Finished with a non-fluorocarbon water repellent which allows the fabric to shed light rain and snow, allowing the jacket to provide weather protection in adverse conditions.The fabric is constructed using highly abrasion resistant nylon ripstop, incorporating reinforcement yarns to provide durable resistance to tearing, helping the fabric to withstand harsh mountain environments.

The Anti Freeze is filled with ExpeDRY™ Goose Down, which has non-toxic gold particles bonded to it for fast-drying performance and industry-leading warmth. The chemical-free technology works because gold particles vibrate water molecules, just like heat does, to speed up evaporation to a rate faster than the water absorption rate of down, while managing moisture from the body.

What has changed with the updated version of the Anti Freeze?

There are multiple core improvements to the updated Anti Freeze range. The Anti Freeze now uses ExpeDRY goose down at 800+ fill power, compared to the previous version which used hydrophobic treated duck down at 750+ fill power. Goose down features larger clusters of down, achieving a higher fill power and more loft at a lower weight. This achieves higher warmth retention while being more packable as well as being softer and more comfortable to wear. The ExpeDRY down dries quicker, returns to full loft faster after getting wet and has a lower environmental impact in production. There is a new synthetic insulation panel under the arm that retains warmth even when wet, helping manage moisture in this key area. The stuff sack has been redesigned so that the fabric can be used to repair a panel of the jacket.
What is ExpeDRY?

ExpeDRY is Allied’s innovative ultra dry down featuring FUZE® technology for a chemical-free alternative to hydrophobic-treated down. ExpeDRY works through a permanent and chemical-free bonding of gold particles to the down cluster which aid in the evaporation of water molecules, causing the down to dry faster and stay dry in high humidity and extreme conditions. It returns to full loft faster and has a lower environmental impact when compared to hydrophobic treated down.
How does ExpeDRY GOLD synthetic insulation work?

The ExpeDRY gold particles create an electro-static shield that provides a small hydrophobic barrier and weakens the hydrogen bond that allows water to form. By attacking the hydrogen bond of the water molecule, ExpeDRY helps keeps moisture from coalescing into droplets (as is the case with performance in use) and helps break that bond to help any water to dry faster.
This helps to create a drier insulative chamber in the product. It also helps with internal moisture such as sweat in high-energy activities which offers more regulated warmth.
How can the Cube stuff sack be used to repair the jacket?

The stuff sack is made from the same fabric as the outer of the jacket. There is one seam that can be unpicked to open the stuff sack into one large piece of fabric big enough to repair a panel on the jacket. You can send the stuff sack along with your jacket to Montane to get repaired should you get a hole in the fabric, please see our Repairs page for more details.
Which Anti Freeze Jacket is best for me?

There are three jackets in the Anti Freeze range that provide different warmths and weights. The Men's Anti Freeze Lite features 80g (size M) of goose down insulation and is ideal for providing lightweight warmth in cooler conditions. The Men's Anti Freeze features 110g (size M) of goose down insulation and is ideal for year round use, excelling in the colder spring and autumn months. The Men's Anti Freeze XT features 170g (size M) of goose down insulation and is ideal for the winter months and freezing conditions.
How does the Anti Freeze fit?

The Anti Freeze and Anti Freeze XT both have a Regular fit, meaning you will be able to comfortably fit a baselayer and a fleece layer under the jacket when worn with your normal size. The Anti Freeze Lite has a Trim fit meaning it will be best worn with lighter weight layers such as a lightweight fleece.

Amazing piece of kit!
I love the design features such as the internal hidden pocket and the adjustable hood! What I love most is that I can pack it down with the built-in mini pack so I can stuff if it my pack when necessary!
