The Montane Men’s Protium Fleece Jacket showcases recycled zip technology, with YKK’s NATULON® VISLON® full-length, and pocket zips. These zips are made from mechanically recycled plastic from PET bottles and other sources, to give single-use plastics another life, and reduce weight compared to metal zips, without compromising performance.

When you want warmth that doesn’t weigh you down, the key is intelligent design. The THERMO GRID FLEECE has a brushed back and gridded format, which both trap more warm air close to the body without having to increase the depth of the fabric. My Go-To Mid Layer
I bought this fleece (I have two) in order to have better fitting more compact clothing for three season hillwalking in Scotland, Wales & The Lakes.
It's an excellent layer that fits well (I'm 5'10", 80KG & a medium fits a treat.) & doesn't take up much room in my day sack. I run quite hot & this doesn't mean I overheat. I keep a lightweight down jacket for cold brew/lunch stops.
I even wear them around the house in the winter.
The only improvement would be thumb loops for really cold days.

I bought this jacket to replace an older model I have had for many years but has lost its elasticity. I consider the older fleece to be made of better quality and slightly thicker fabric.
