How do I make a return?

How long do I have to return the item I purchased from

Items purchased from are currently subject to a 30 day return period.

Please follow the returns instructions provided for UK Returns and International Returns.

How do free returns work?

Only items purchased in the UK qualify for free returns. You must use the free returns labels provided in the UK Royal Mail Hub to qualify.

International Returns are currently not subject to free returns, please follow the instructions provided here.

I don't have a printer to generate a free label.

When you generate a returns label through the Royal Mail Returns hub a QR codes is automatically generated and emailed to the email address you add when you generate the label.

Just show your QR code at the post office and they will generate the returns label in store.

Where is my refund?

Please ensure you obtain tracking details at the point of return from Royal Mail. Use these details to track the status of the returned item here.

It can take up to seven working days for an item to be delivered to our Returns Department.

Once an item is received it is passed to our returns department for inspection, it usually takes two working days from receipt to issue a refund.

During peak periods returns handling times can take up to four days. The delay is often due to the courier holding onto the returned items for longer periods.

Should you need to contact our help desk relating to a returned item please include the original order number and the tracking details obtained from Royal Mail to enable our returns team to conduct a thorough investigation.

How long do refunds take to process?

Once an item is signed over to our warehouse the refund is subject to an inspection process.

Returns handling time is usually two days from receipt of item.

A refund will always be made to the original payment method used to purchase the item. We are unable to refund to alternative payment methods.

You will be notified that the refund has been processed using the email address associated with the original purchase.

Refunded monies can take up to 10 days to appear or clear or become visible in online banking statements including apps this is due to your own banks internal processes. The actual refund was actioned at the exact time the email notifying you of the refund was sent.

I would like to return an item outside of the 30 day returns period.

Our returns period is 30 days.

Items returned outside of this period may be returned to you and the cost to make the return will be at your own expense.

Please contact the Help Desk before you action a return to avoid disappointment.

Can I exchange an item?

Yes contact our helpdesk so we can flag the exchange to our returns team. We will shortly be introducing a system to automate exchanges.

Can I return a Montane product purchased elsewhere to

Only products purchased directly from should be returned to us.

Any items returned to which have been purchased elsewhere will be returned to you at your own expense.

If you purchased your product(s) from a Montane stockist, please contact them directly to arrange a return.
